I began my career in marketing right after leaving school at 16, driven by my passion for creativity and a strong desire to build a career where I could express my ideas. My first role as a Marketing Executive, after completing my Digital Marketing Apprenticeship, gave me valuable experience across various areas of marketing, but it didn’t take long to realise that social media was where my creativity truly flourished.
While excelling in my full-time role, I began to dream of becoming self-employed and starting something of my own. I spent my free time improving my skills by attending networking events and conferences, all while continuing to learn more about the industry. I was determined to make my vision a reality.
Eventually, the time came to take the leap. I transitioned from my full-time position to freelancing, offering social media marketing services. The same day I handed in my notice, I signed my very first client - someone I’m proud to still work with to this day!
As my freelance business grew, so did the demand for my services. To meet this, I created a range of services that could accommodate businesses of all sizes and budgets, ensuring my marketing strategies were accessible to all.
When I made the decision to offer services suited to every budget, everything started to change. New opportunities opened up, including the chance to work with a business coach who helped me refine my vision, streamline my processes and sharpen my business strategy.
A year has passed and I’ve never felt more confident in The Social Hood’s future. I have so much more to tell, but let’s save that for another day! I look forward to sharing more of my journey and what I’ve learned with you soon.
